Education

I started my studies at Lund University in 1966 and received 1969 a Master of Science in Mathematics, Mineralogy and Chemistry. I accepted a position as teaching assistant, just after the MSc, at the department of Inorganic Chemistry 1, Lund University. I started at the same time my PhD studies under the supervision of the Professors Bengt Aurivillius and Sten Ahrland. The project included studies of the coordination chemistry of antimony(III)-ions in acid solutions and single crystal structure determinations of an antimony(III)-oxynitrat and an antimony(III)-oxyperchlorate. The thesis presented in 1975 included a presentation of structure building principles for several antimony(III)-compounds, taking in consideration the effect of the stereoactive lone-pairs of electrons on the oxygen-coordination found in this type of compounds. I obtained a Masters degree in Education in mathematics and chemistry during my PhD studies.
